Service Expectations

The speed that can be achieved is based on the following factors: the line length from the premises to the BT exchange, the quality of the line, and any electrical interference causing noise on the line.

Standard ADSL2+ circuits will deliver download speeds of up to 24Mb with upload speeds of up to 1.3Mb, whilst Network ADSL2+ circuits will deliver download speeds of up to 22Mb, but upload speeds of up to 2.5Mb. (Network circuits can only be delivered to sites with a line length of less than 2.5 kilometers from premises to BT exchange).

If your line is two kilometers long then you can expect to receive download speeds of up to 15Mb and upload speeds of up to 1Mb (dependent on the above circumstances). Speeds will decrease further as line length increases, and we can not offer our service if you are further than 5 kilometers from the exchange.

Whilst there are no speed guarantees, below are two graphs showing an indication of what download and upload speeds could be received as an upgrade to standard ADSL.
